Day 1 as Kong Pig Pig

Started my intern as a temporary teacher in a secondary school nearby my house, SMK SERI KELEDANG.

Okay before I talk anything further, there are a few things which I should clarify just FYI.
1. When it's about internship in a fully governmental support school, it will happen that YOU DONT GET PAID. Instead you still have to pay for your own expenses say the petrol, your meals and other expenses which you could or couldn't think upon. However it's undeniable that you won't get this opportunity often to be in a secondary school again but this time you are no more a student but a teacher!
2. I didn't apply through the Education Department which is also a reason why I didn't get paid. If you are interested in being a temporary teacher, no matter it's in primary school or secondary school, you can always go to the nearest Jabatan Pelajaran, look for the authority and submit your application(simple interview needed.) It's actually a HIGH PAID JOB! If you are a STPM graduate you could get RM70 per day plus you just need to work half day from 7am to 2pm if it's morning session. You will get a lower pay if you only hold a SPM certificate but still consider as high paid than promoters, servants or clerical job.
3. Why it's Kong Pig Pig? This is how my students called me on my first day of internship! There are a few guys who called me Kong 猪猪 in Cantonese 。While 猪 stand for piggie in Cantonese therefore I write it as Kong Pig Pig. I think my students didn't do it to insult me in fact they might think that it's a cute way to call a teacher who is almost the same age as them like this. I suppose. LOL TRYING TO BE SELF-DECEIVING.

The first day of being a teacher in secondary school started with excitement. Though it's a SMK school, it's crowded with Chinese student, only a few of them were Indians and basically no Malays in high school.

But but.

The reality was totally different with what I had imagined! Or I should say my imagination gone too far even at the beginning.

In my imagination I would teach in joy and students enjoy my class as if I am performing on stage.
LOL
PUN INDEED.

What actually happened on the first day of teaching is
...
...
A helpless girl in a class full of active students.

ACTIVE STUDENTS.
I know it's normal. I remembered how I didn't pay attention in my high school and I never complete my homework(most of the time I copied)
But the first day as Kong Pig Pig was quite a disaster. I realised how helpless I was when I can't control the class. How desperate I was to shout at the class.

Literally like a FAILED teacher.

....
Endless sob.

But I also realise that it's tough for students to fully respect me cause I am just few years older than them. Instead of teacher I think they will feel more comfortable to put me as their elder sister.
In fact there are a few students who called me Jie Jie instead of Teacher.
(There are students who shouted Leng Lui Lou Si when I passed by their class. Lol I perasan to the max. Feeling so proud of myself)

But hor I also realise that the students nowadays especially girl students, so pretty already lo as compare to my time.
Their quality like being upgraded lol

Or maybe myself don't look as attractive as them when I was in their age.

Conclusion draw!

My students are just merely AMAZING!!!
